Grow your own tropical Sugar Apple tree from this larger-fruited Chinese variety, known for producing bigger fruits with a deliciously sweet flavour and a smoother, creamier flesh than many standard Sugar Apple types.

This premium Chinese variety produces larger fruits with improved eating quality, offering a smoother flesh texture with less of the coarse, grainy texture sometimes found in traditional Sugar Apple varieties.

Seeds have been carefully cleaned and dried, allowing them to be stored until you are ready to plant. Keep seeds in a cool, dry place until sowing.

Best suited to warm, frost-free climates. Can be grown in containers in cooler regions and protected over winter.

Shipping within New Zealand only. Postage included in cost for residential post. ($5 extra for rural delivery).

Sowing: Soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours before planting to help soften the seed coat.

Planting depth: Sow approximately 1–2 cm deep in a free-draining seed raising mix.

Temperature: Best germination occurs in warm conditions (around 25–30°C).

Germination time: Seeds can take approximately 3–8 weeks to germinate, sometimes longer.

Position: Grow in full sun with protection from frost and cold winds.

Soil: Prefers well-drained soil and does not like wet feet.

Climate: Ideal for warm, subtropical and tropical gardens. In cooler areas of New Zealand, grow in a pot and protect from frost during winter.
