Keep soil warm and consistently moist, but avoid waterlogging.
Germination:
Best germination occurs in warm conditions around 20–30°C.
Germination can take approximately 3–8 weeks, sometimes longer.
Growing in New Zealand:
Best suited to warm, sheltered areas with a long growing season.
Ideal locations include Northland, Auckland, Bay of Plenty, and other frost-free coastal areas.
Choose a sunny position protected from strong winds and cold temperatures.
Growing on:
Passionfruit are vigorous climbing vines and require a strong support structure such as a trellis, fence, or pergola.
Regular feeding and watering during the growing season will encourage strong growth and fruit production.
